To the editor:
Thank you Rep. Kyle Johansen. You are now the poster child for why we need to set the state House and U.S. Congress into "circle the bowl" mode.
Rep Johansen is currently lobbying Congress to make New York's Central Park a designated wildlife area - you know, like Alaska National Wildlife Refuge.
Obviously, this is partly tongue-in-cheek, but it is so far removed from reality that it should create great concern. Poor Kyle apparently has no understanding of the Wilderness Act of 1964, The Alaska Statehood Act and most sad, the Alaska Constitution. Like too many current politicians, Rep. Johansen has no clue about how or why his job came to be.
And Kyle is helping enact laws and set policy. We need to flush out and start over in Juneau and Washington, D.C. Thanks to Mudflats for this information. Your writing is way, way too far to the left for my taste, but when you are right you are right.
