My husband came home from a candidate forum at the Palmer Senior Center last night eager to talk about his conversation with State Senate Republican candidate Bill Stoltze. My husband, Vince, is firmly convinced that we, state and country, need to be a lot more active in pursuing reusing and recycling, and most of all, pursuing alternative energy sources, primarily wind, solar, and geo-thermal energy. He will talk at the drop of a hat about the fact that oil is a finite resource. The candidate told him he must be from another planet. We will always have oil, he said.
Well I do agree with my husband. Maybe we will have oil for our lifetimes, maybe even for Stoltze’s. He is younger than we by many years. It is a selfish attitude ignoring future generations. Sooner or later the oil will be gone. We are not going to run out of wind or solar power.
We already knew we would be voting for Pat Chesbro. Had there been any doubt, this would have convinced us.
