Weakness invites disaster

To the editor:

As Harry Truman said, “the buck stops here.” President Barack Obama is to blame for Putin having the nerve to invade the Crimea. If Obama had shown some backbone beginning five years ago when he gave the speech in Egypt signaling that he was willing to surrender, and then doing just that by abandoning the missile shield for Europe, setting a red line in Syria that he gave up without a shot, to who? Putin! Not to mention letting Iran get the bomb.

All this was on Obama’s watch.

Dan Grota seems to believe, like Obama, that if we are just nice enough to everyone that they will reciprocate. Every bully’s dream — if I hit him he will run. Unfortunately, in our president we have such a man.

History has shown — even in our time with Germany — that weakness invites disaster. Obama should be impeached for incompetence. Again, unfortunately, incompetence is not grounds for impeachment. Lying to the American people is though.
