Weight restrictions in place

The Alaska Department of Transportation announced Friday that seasonal weight restrictions for the northern part of the state were in place. In the Valley, that means the Parks Highway north of Mile 168 and the Glenn Highway past Mile 118. Weight restrictions apply to vehicles weighing more than 10,000 pounds and are calculated based on the maximum axle loading specified in state statutes.
