WASILLA — Mat-Su Regional Medical Center is hosting the 2023 Baby and Children’s Fair Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This a free community event designed for new and expecting parents, featuring a variety of local healthcare vendors offering information and services such as ear checks, vision screenings, and infant CPR training, There will also be numerous children's activities, snacks, and giveaways throughout the event.
Mat-Su Regional Medical Center marketing coordinator Deena Straub said that visitors will have the opportunity to fill out an interactive map with stamps to win prizes.
“It'll be fun," Straub said.
This year’s event is titled, “Welcome to the Jungle.” Straub said to expect numerous vendors dressed up as tigers and other jungle-themed animals.
"Some people get really into it," Straub said with a laugh.
According to Straub, Mat-Su Regional has hosted this event for over a decade as an effort to support local families. She said it’s a great way to raise awareness about local providers.
"I think it's super important to learn about our community providers," Straub said. "We're just excited to get back to giving back to our community. It's going to be great."
This year's event will be the first one held since 2019. Straub said they hope to see a lot of visitors, and they look forward to growing this event over time.
"We definitely want to get it back to pre-pandemic numbers," Straub said. "We're excited to bring it back and keep it going."
