Wells Fargo is largest lender in Valley

Recent advertising campaigns opposed to the proposed Wishbone Hill mining development have declared that, “banks are denying home loans based on the possibility of Wishbone Hill.”

I would like to assure Mat-Su residents that Wells Fargo continues to make mortgage loans available for residents in the Valley. According to data provided by Mat-Su Title Agency, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage is the No. 1 mortgage lender by dollar volume in the Mat-Su area this year, approving 400 home loans totaling $78 million through July 2011.

The email being used in the anti-mining advertising does not reflect our commitment to mortgage lending in the Mat-Su. This eight-month-old email is being used without our endorsement. Wells Fargo does not endorse or oppose the proposed Wishbone Hill development.
