WASILLA — Wasilla entered Friday’s game chasing the program’s first trip to the state championship game in 25 years. Minutes into regulation, the Warriors found themselves also chasing West Anchorage.

Powered by a pair of early goals, West posted a 4-2 win over the Warriors during the ASAA First National Cup semifinals at the Menard Arena in Wasilla.

Ryder Schwamm netted a pair to help West earn its first chance to play for a 4A title since 2010. The Eagles will play Cook Inlet Conference rival South Anchorage Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the championship game.

Tanner Schachle and Cooper Hanson scored goals for the Warriors, who will face Chugiak Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the bracket’s third-place game.
