We’ve become lazy and inconsistent

To the editor:

I read an article in the Anchorage Daily News about people ordering vests and harnesses for their dogs that are not “working dogs,” but for their ordinary house dogs or pets. This is so the owner can take their dogs into stores, restaurants and on airplanes when they are not “service dogs” needed by someone. Just how low do some people have to go?

Then we have a grandson-in-law who is allergic to animals, so he has to leave a store, restaurant or not be able to fly seated anywhere near these animals. To me, that just shows you that people think only of themselves and no one else. I wish if caught, they would have to pay a $500 fine.

Another thing that bothers me is a lot of those people who have handicap stickers in their cars and then they let their kids and spouses use their car, and then those kids and spouses park up close to the store and they are not handicapped. I am 78 years old, and boy, there are days I wish I could park closer, especially in the winter months when it’s icy and cold.

While I am at it, I might as well say one more thing that bugs the hell out of me, and that is people who are too lazy to take their carts back to the store or a cart return spot, but instead push it into a parking spot, making it difficult for a person to park a car.

Just saying, we sure have become a lazy and inconsistent America.
