Attention High School Students! It’s never too early to start planning your next move and Mat-Su College (MSC) is inviting you to come take an in-depth look at two of UAA’s exciting programs. Your hometown campus is hosting an Engineering Forum on February 7 and a Health Career Forum on February 21.
Both forums are free and open to high school students of any grade. They offer hands-on workshops, interactive demonstrations, guest speakers, campus tours and opportunities to ask lots of questions. Jamison Lednum, MSC Admissions Representative says, “By connecting with professionals and learning about real-world applications, students will be empowered to make informed decisions about their educational and career paths.”
Students can sign up through their high school counselor who will also be able to provide additional details regarding transportation. Parents, teachers, and counselors are also encouraged to attend.
All students need to bring is a positive attitude and an open mind – even lunch will be provided for all registered students! Lednum says, “These programs are designed to inspire students to pursue higher education and equip them with a deeper understanding of the skills and knowledge required in these industries.”
Bonus! Attending events like this demonstrates your interest in the field and can provide valuable insights for essays or interviews.
Representatives from Mat-Su College will share information about dual-enrollment options for high school students to earn college credit early.
These events are designed to be beginner-friendly. Whether you’re exploring or already committed, there’s something for everyone!
