Where were the friends and neighbors?

To the editor:

So now the Mat-Su Borough fathers have a real problem on their hands. Not only has a home been removed from the rolls and moved to the center of the Matanuska River along with support equipment commonly called a septic tank, the Department of Natural Resources won’t allow heavy equipment to enter the river for fear of mudding up the pristine waters of the Matanuska River.

I know for a fact if that scenario had taken place in my community of Glacier View, that structure would be on dry land and well back from the river bank today.

Where were the friends and neighbors of this misfortunate family?
