MAT-SU — Citing a family crisis, Mat-Su Borough School Board member Sandra White resigned Wednesday.
“My family is currently dealing with an unexpected crisis, and after much introspection I have concluded that I will be unable to devote the personal time needed for the position of school board member,” White says in a statement relayed through Mat-Su Borough School District spokeswoman Catherine Esary.
White was elected in October 2007 to a term due to expire in 2010.
White’s seat will be filled within 30 days. Interested candidates can submit a letter of intent and a resume to the district, according to a press statement from Esary. The school board will interview candidates and select a candidate to fill the post at a special meeting April 30.
