Why evolution is still correctly called a theory

In my last article I put forth the challenge to truthfully answer why we still call evolution a theory. This is perhaps the most important question in the evolutionary argument, because upon it hinges whether or not it is truly scientific.

If evolution cannot be proven scientifically, then it ceases to be science but instead is philosophy, at best, or worse, mere conjecture.

The fact that evolutionary scientists know this is self-evident by the constant barrage of theories and experimentation they throw at us. And indeed they must, for their only alternative is Christianity.

But this question leads to even greater things, for if evolution is not true science, then why is it taught in publicly funded schools at any level? Private institutions can teach whatever they please, for they are funded by the dollars that willingly support their views, but what moral explanation can be given for taking from public monies, which are supported in a large degree by those who are creationists? Particularly when it is taught as truth? This is tantamount to robbery.

Furthermore, what does this imply of an educational establishment, and the hierarchy that runs it? If evolution is not true science, why is it taught as such? And why their vehemence against creationism? Is it any wonder that a growing segment of our population is choosing alternative sources of education?

Now then, why do we still correctly call evolution a theory? Simply, it is because science has yet to replicate it in the laboratory. Why not? Well, it is not for trying, that is for sure.

You see, the scientific method has five parts:

€ Stating the problem;

€ Forming the hypothesis;

€ Observation and experimentation;

€ Interpreting the data and

€ Drawing conclusions.

This is pure science, and this is what makes it objective - free from human bias. And this is important, because true science does not care what the truth is, only that it arrives at the truth.

In the case of evolution, the problem would be stated something to the effect of, "I wonder how the universe began?" Secondly, the scientist, out of what he knows to be truth, would form a possible explanation for the problem, called a hypothesis or theory. Hence we have the theory of evolution. Next, we move on to what can be observed and/or replicated in the laboratory (called experimentation). And in the case of evolution, this is where we end.

You see, the difference between a law of science and a theory is that science has run so many experiments on their hypotheses and the results always happen in a predictable way, like with the laws of gravity, aerodynamics and thermodynamics. Theories fail the experimentation-and-observation phase.

Evolutionists have tried in vain to get life to spontaneously begin in the test tube. Yes, they have tried it. Honest teachers would tell their students this. Thus they have turned to observation and searched in vain for the missing link, only to be embarrassed by such things as a pig's tooth.

However, evolutionists' real problem is not that they cannot get out of the theory phase that they have been in for more than 100 years, but rather, that they have misstated the problem to begin with. For by getting us to believe that they are trying to discover the origins of the universe, they drape themselves with the cloak of science.

But such is not the truth. In their heart of hearts their real problem is correctly stated, "How do we prove there is not God?"

Think about it! Bridges and buildings must be built, and automobiles must be made. They did not evolve from mud huts and ox carts on their own over millions of years; indeed, any intimation to this effect would be an insult to those we call "inventors." No, they were created by something greater than themselves: Man. Evolution, then, is not a science problem, but a religious one. In effect, evolution is just one more religion invented by man to sidestep his Creator.

In the beginning of this article I pointed out that the only alternative to evolution was Christianity. This is because all other religions, Judaism excepted, have been founded by men who had problems with the Creator. But this I will say: At least those of other religions are honest; evolutionists, in cloaking their religion in science, is not.

Just remember this: With all their clamor of logic and reason and knowledge, evolution is still correctly called a theory.
