Why I am supporting Governor Dunleavy

My highest priority, and duty, is to represent the views of the folks in my district. I continue to hear an overwhelming majority support a full PFD with no changes without a public vote. I agree, as I believe that our state constitution directs this. Frankly, every Alaskan has their own opinion. The fairest way to resolve this issue is by a vote of the people.

Since the beginning of my legislative career I have asked industry leaders, school district, senior care, health care officials, if they felt overburdened by excess state bureaucracy. All supported less government regulations and interference.

Yes, change is difficult. Governor Dunleavy is doing exactly what he campaigned on. A smaller government that identifies the needs and removes the wants. Now is not the time to waver.

Industry continues to extract Alaska’s many resources, only to add thousands of miles of transportation costs so others can create jobs and grow economies elsewhere. Many of those same industry and services organizations blame excess government as the reason.

The only way forward is to have a more accountable efficient government that will finally encourage industry to develop Alaska’s resources here. Creating much needed jobs and royalty revenues that support our government. Not give up now and turn our back on reducing this never-ending government growth. We must reduce the size of our state government.

I will continue to work with Governor Dunleavy to turn Alaska’s resources into jobs for Alaska’s people and expand our opportunities to make Alaska great again.
