WENATCHEE, Wash. — The Wenatchee Wild have struck first in the North American Hockey League playoffs.
Wenatchee skated to a 4-1 win over the Alaska Avalanche Friday at the Toyota Town Center in Wenatchee, Wash., Friday to take the one-game lead in the best-of-5 postseason series.
The Wild scored the first four goals of the game and outshot Alaska 37-20 in the win. Veteran Grant Dye tallied Alaska's lone goal, scoring on the power play in the third.
The teams meet again Saturday at 6:05 p.m. AST in Wenatchee.
