WILLIAM ADAIR JARDEL SR.

William Adair Jardel Sr., 74, passed into a new life on Monday, Feb. 11 2002, at the home of his daughter, Dr. Marie McGlynn, in Oakley, Calif. He was a native of Burlhome, Pa., and resided in Chugiak since 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta French-Jardel; daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Marie Jardel-McGlynn (Larry), Nancy Casey, Theresa Jordan (Butchie), Bernice Jardel and Mary Lou O'Brien (Patrick); sons and daughters-in-law, William Jardel (Diane), Andrew Jardel (Bridget), Matthew Jardel (Bonnie), John Jardel (Kim), Mark Jardel (Joni), Luke Jardel (Christine) and Danial Jardel (Catherine); 43 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; including extended family, Betty Charles-Marth, Peggy Stewart, Irene and Gary Wilson, Charlie Stewart Sr.; sisters, Regina Lovinfosse, Peggy Martin, Joan McManus and JonnŽ Johnson; brothers, Jack Jardel, Edward Jardel and James Jardel.

Mr. Jardel was preceded in death by the mother of his 13 children, Nancy Farley; his son Patrick T. Jardel; his grandson, Christopher Jardel; and siblings, Marie Johns, Thomas Jardel, Joseph Jardel, Dorothy Moody and Charles Jardel.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Presentation B.V.M. Church in Cheltenham, Pa., on Friday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. Private interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will be on Saturday, Feb. 23. A memorial service will be held at Chugiak Senior Center in Chugiak on Friday, Feb. 22,

at 2 p.m.

Mr. Jardel attended St. Andrew's parish in Eagle River. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an ardent artist with many interests including hunting, fishing, scuba diving, swimming, photography, dancing, fencing and participated in marathons. Bill was a valued friend and mentor to many people from Pennsylvania to Alaska.
