Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

William Henry Weaver, 81, died of leukemia on Jan. 14, 2006, at Crossroads Medical Center in Glennallen. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Kenny Lake Community Building in Kenny Lake.
Mr. Weaver was born July 8, 1924, in Wayne County, N.C.
He moved to Alaska in 1959, and made his home in Copper Center. He worked as a carpenter and retired from the Carpenter's Union.
Mr. Weaver is survived by a brother, David A. Weaver; three sisters, Ruby W. Weaver, Carol Chavous and Faye Edwards; a son, Robert Allen Weaver; a daughter, Gloria Anne Weaver, and a granddaughter, Oedipa Rice. He was preceded in death by family members Whitney J. Weaver, Edith W. Turner, Ellis P. Weaver and Curtis L. Weaver.
Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.
