Vibrant Christmas light, a live nativity and the community caroling around the bonfire -- it sounds like a Norman Rockwell holiday painting, or simply Christmas in Willow.
On Sunday, Willow kicks off the holiday season with a tour of homes, a live nativity presentation and a giant bonfire, complete with refreshments and caroling.
"It gets everyone in the Christmas spirit," said Valerie Schachle, one of the event organizers.
From 2-5 p.m., people can take part in a tour of three well-decorated Willow homes. The cost is $10, which goes to the Willow Public Library.
"At each house, people will go inside and see how the people have decorated their homes, and there will be refreshments at every stop," Schachle said.
At the same time, people can go out on their own, with a provided map, and visit homes and businesses that have been decorated for the season. Also, at the Willow United Methodist, a live nativity, complete with animals, will be presented."
Starting around 7 p.m. at the Community Center, there will be caroling, a bonfire and refreshments. People will also vote on the lighting contest.
