A Willow man has been arrested and charged with assault and kidnapping after Alaska State Troopers responded to a welfare check in the Caswell Lakes subdivision in Willow.
According to an AST dispatch, Troopers responded in the early morning hours to the residence on August 13 and discovered a female at the residence who told AST that she had been kidnapped and suffered an extensive level of assault during the previous 2 weeks. The woman named Sean Richey, 38, of Willow, as the assailant.
The dispatch goes on to say that Troopers located the suspect as he attempted to escape in a vehicle, and was then arrested. Richey has been charged with Assault in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Degrees, Kidnapping, Unlawful Contact in the 2nd Degree, and Interfering with the Report of a Domestic Violence Crime. He was taken into custody at the Mat-Su Pre Trial facility in Palmer and held without bail.
