HOUSTON — Alaska State Troopers say a woman was killed after losing consciousness while driving on the Parks Highway Tuesday evening.
According to a trooper press statement, Betty Lou Tilghman, 78, of Willow, was northbound driving her blue 1992 Lincoln Town Car with her granddaughter as a passenger.
“Tilghman lost consciousness due to an unknown medical condition, went across the southbound lane of travel and the vehicle came to rest on top of the guardrail,” according to a trooper press statement.
Tilghman was rushed to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Her granddaughter was apparently uninjured.
