Willow’s Capitol Speedway hosts 100-lap main event

WILLOW — Ralph Gobert won the 100-lap main event at Captiol Speedway in Willow on Sunday.

John Clemmons finished second in the event.

Jaryd Riggs (hobby stock), David Burke (mini stock) and David Spain (truck) also won races on Sunday.

Father and son score on Father’s Day

BUTTE — A local father and son duo earned points during racing action on Father’s Day at Alaska Raceway Park in the Butte on Sunday.

Greg and Nathan Thornsley each earned points. Greg finished first in the top eliminator, while Nathan was second in the top dragster.

Zach Richards, of Palmer, finished second in the super eliminator. Another Palmer driver, Monte Soper, was second in the modified eliminator.

WASILLA — Mike Thomas held on to his ponits lead in the legends class with another win last week during the GCI Saturday Night Thunder racing series at North Star Speedway in Wasilla.

Thomas now has 808 total points.
