EAGLE RIVER — The Eagle River Wolves used a big first inning to blast Bartlett June 17 at Bartlett High School.
Eagle River scored seven runs in the first, and posted a 12-1 American Legion baseball victory over the Golden Bears.
Chase McGraw singled to load the bases in the first, and Josh Agron followed with another single to give Eagle River its first lead of the game. Daniel Bodine, Brendan Miles and Sterling Retzlaff also had run-scoring singles during the first inning.
Agron was 2 for 3 with two RBI and a run scored in the win. Retzlaff also drove in two during the win. Christian Frederick scored a team-high three runs for the Wolves.
In other action June 17, Chugiak split a doublehear with Ketchikan. The Mustangs scored an 8-4 win over Ketchikan, and also fell 6-5.
