EAGLE RIVER — The Eagle River Wolves grabbed a pair of American Legion baseball road trip during a trip to Kodiak last weekend.
The Wolves survived a late Kodiak rally to win the rubber match of the three-game road set with a 9-7 victory over the Bears on Sunday. Eagle River had taken a 9-4 lead with three runs in the top of the six, but Kodiak scored a combined three runs in the final two innings to make it a two-run game.
Aaron Davis, Abel Davis and Sam Thompson each finished with two hits and two RBI for Eagle River. Aaron Davis and Daniel Bodine scored two runs each.
On Saturday, Eagle River and Kodiak split a doubleheader. The Wolves took the first game with a 13-5 win. Aaron Davis scored a team-best three runs. Braden Olmsted had two runs and two RBI. Bodine and Chase McGraw also drove in two each.
Kodiak also scored an 11-4 win over Eagle River. The Wolves finished with only four hits in the loss.
