WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers say that a day after it was reported stolen, a riding lawn mower was spotted rolling down Church Road.
According to a trooper press statement, the mower, a John Deere to be precise, was reported stolen at 8:06 p.m., Friday on Tamar Circle in the neighborhoods off Seldon Road west of Church Road.
On Saturday at 8:45 p.m., troopers spotted the green mower “traveling northbound near the Parks Highway and Church Road.”
They pulled the mower over and talked to the driver, Kelly A. Henning, 29, of Wasilla. Troopers allege Henning stole the mower. She was jailed for theft and trespassing at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $2,500 bail. Jail records Monday afternoon showed she was still there.
Accident leads to charges
WASILLA — Troopers say a man behind the wheel in a serious car crash last month was arrested Friday for driving while intoxicated. According to a trooper press statement, the accident in question happened Aug. 7 on Fairview Loop. Jerald Manginelli, 53, of Wasilla, crossed the centerline and hit another vehicle head-on.
In the other vehicle was Amber Murdock, 25, of Wasilla and her three children, one of whom was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Manginelli was arrested for assault, drug misconduct, marijuana possession, drunken driving and driving without a license. He was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility with bail to be set at his arraignment. As of Monday afternoon he was still listed as an inmate at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.
