WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers say a young woman was found dead early Thursday evening in the bathroom at the Tesoro station at the corner of Seward Meridian Parkway and the Palmer-Wasilla Highway.
According to a trooper press statement, the call to respond to the gas station came at 6:35 p.m. Emergency band radio traffic from around that time seemed to indicate drugs may have been involved in the incident.
On scene, troopers report, medics used CPR to try to revive Alexi Bickers, 20, of Palmer, but were unsuccessful. Bickers was pronounced deceased at 7:25 p.m.
Troopers do not list a cause of death, but say the medical examiner is investigating and foul play is not suspected. Medical examiner investigations can take as long as six weeks to complete.
Bickers’ Facebook page is filled with loving remembrances from family, friends and classmates. Her page says she was a member of Valley Pathways’ class of 2011 and the mother of a young daughter.
