To the editor:
I want to let everyone in Wasilla know what a very special person mayoral candidate Dianne Woodruff is.
I had met her only once at the Wasilla Senior Center, where I live, when I needed a ride to the hospital in Anchorage for open-heart surgery. I called her, as a city council member, to ask if she knew of any bus or van service that could take me, and my electric scooter. The only thing I had found was a taxi.
She immediately said that she would take me. She did take me, helped me to my room at the hospital and continued to check on me while I was there. And she was there eight days later when I needed a ride home.
Dianne has my unswerving gratitude for the concern she showed to me. She is not like any politician I have ever known. She is not in politics for the personal power, but as a means to get things done to help people.
Dianne really cares about seniors. She attends many of the Wasilla Area Seniors Inc. membership and board meetings, with the aim of ensuring seniors have a voice. After meetings, she sits and listens to us.
I recommend her to all of the voters of Wasilla. She really listens and cares.
