To the editor:
People who attend Wasilla City Council meetings recognize that Dianne Woodruff has been an excellent city council member for the past four years and would be a superior mayor.
I say this because Dianne studies the issues facing Wasilla and understands the far-reaching consequences of a decision. For example, promoting industry for Wasilla is great. However, she recognizes it must be done so that it does not hurt the existing local businesses. Dianne is in favor of a commission of business leaders who will give input as to how Wasilla’s economy can be developed. She would work toward bringing satellite offices out to Wasilla to eliminate the commute for many of the workers who go to Anchorage every day.
I have never met anyone who cares more about what the people want. She listens to people not just out of duty, but because she cares. And she responds to questions. She is the only candidate running who lists their personal cellphone on their campaign literature. She is the person you want to go to if you need something done or fixed and if you want our city to be well run.
Dianne has been involved in local government for five years, including one year on the Planning Commission. During that time she has dedicated herself to serving the public and not special interests. In summary, Dianne is experienced, non-partisan and extremely knowledgeable. I strongly support her for mayor of Wasilla.
