Working out on the road.

Okay, so I kicked myself in the behind and got active today. Very active.

I’m in Juneau and I made a point of walking everywhere I needed to go. Up and down the inclined streets, up and down the stairs in the capital building several times. I had meetings on every floor of the building and I didn’t take the elevator once.

I started the day on the ground floor, then up 2 flights, then back down 1 flight, then up 2 more flights all before lunch. I walked downtown for lunch (all downhill), then back uphill to the capital building (5 blocks), then up the stairs to the 4th floor, back down to the 1st floor, back up to the 3rd floor and finishing up on the 1st floor and finally down to the ground floor and back to the hotel.

Once back to my room, I did 20 sets of leg lifts, 35 sit ups, 20 sets of arm lifts and finished up with 10 crunches.

My legs definitely feel the workout from the stairs and walking, and I’m feeling like I’m ready to get back in the daily workout groove.

I’ll be out of town until Sunday morning, and I’ve recommitted to hitting the gym on a regular basis as soon as I get back. I would have worked out in the hotel gym while gone, but this particular hotel doesn’t have a gym. A rarity in today’s world, but a reality I’ve worked around.

I kept my eating on track, too, keeping it light and healthy. I am so committed to losing those 30 pounds I promised myself I would by the April 8th weigh in!
