On June 26, at approximately 8 p.m. Wasilla Police Department (WPD) officers assisted the Alaska State Troopers Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) in stopping a vehicle suspected of drug trafficking.
According to a press release from WPD, officers located and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, contacting the driver, Konstantinos Lambernakis, age 39 of Wasilla, and passenger, Orion Seal, age 41 of Wasilla.
Investigation revealed that Seal was on conditions of release and under pretrial enforcement supervision, and upon contact with Pretrial Enforcement, officers were requested to conduct a search of Seal and the area where he was seated in the vehicle.
Due to the combined history of both occupants involving illegal drugs and the requested search by Pretrial Enforcement, a K9 sniff was further requested. WPD K9 Centa J was called in and alerted officers to the presence of illegal substances on the passenger side of the vehicle where Seal was seated.
A search warrant was then obtained to search the entirety of the vehicle, where officers located approximately 450 user doses of fentanyl, 80 doses of powdered heroin, and a significant amount of cash and gold.
Lambernakis and Seal were both charged with two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree. Lambernakis was also charged with two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, and Seal was charged with three counts of Violating Conditions of Release.
