A substitute teacher art Houston Jr./Sr. High School was escorted off the property earlier this month after an initial investigation revealed that the substitute had allowed students to use illegal substances in the classroom, according to the Wasilla Police Department.

Emergency medical service personnel responded to the school Nov. 3 at 10:15 a.m. for a possible overdose, WPD said. A school resources officer, which is provided by WPD, initiated the investigation. The substitute who was escorted off the property was identified by WPD as Nicole Bruner, 27, of Wasilla.

Mat-Su Borough School District officials said the district has no comment as the incident is still under investigation.

According to WPD, the investigation is ongoing with “multiple charges pending.”
