JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska – Tactical air control party specialists assigned to Detachment 1, 3rd Air support Operations Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, held mountaineering training at Sunshine Ridge, Alaska, July 20 and 22, 2022. The training consisted of leaning how to use rock climbing tools and techniques to traverse hazardous and otherwise inaccessible terrain. 3rd ASOS Airmen utilize Alaska’s varied and austere training locations to prepare for conditions that may be faced on deployment.
