Adelbert “Dell” Robbins, 69, died March 4, 2013, in Wasilla.
A celebration of life is planned in June by family and friends, where the scattering of his ashes will take place.
Dell was born in Rapid City, S.D., Dec. 20, 1943. He lived in many places such as South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Guam and Japan. Dell became an Alaska resident in 1981 and stayed until 2000, when he left to Minnesota for medical treatment. He returned to Alaska years later in September 2012.
Dell completed a five-year apprentice plumbing program and started working as a plumber in 1964, and worked throughout Iowa, Alaska, Guam and Japan.
On his off time, you could find Dell fishing, hunting, camping or doing other outdoor activities. He also loved to cook and was a great dancer. He had a soft spot for animals and was very close with his dogs.
Surviving are his sons, Perry Robbins (Terry Dee) and Todd Robbins of Wasilla; brother, Ronald Robbins (Kandi) of Trapper Creek; grandsons, Rowdy Robbins of Wasilla, Colt Robbins of Elizabethtown, Penn., and Braydon Robbins of Portland, Ore.; granddaughter, Jessie Robbins of Washington, D.C.; numerous nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved, and step-children, Jeff and Dawn Moffit of Iowa.
Preceding him in death were his father and mother, Charles and Muriel Robbins.
The family is extremely grateful and appreciative of the second floor nursing staff, especially the Comfort Keepers at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center and Northern Comfort Assisted Living Home. Thanks to all our friends and family for their help and support.
Arrangements are with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory.
