Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Adrian Luke Nolfi, 22, of Anchorage, died Dec. 6 while attending school in Avondale, Ariz. He was born March 26, 1986 in Anchorage to Adrian P. and Denise M. (Polster) Nolfi.
A rosary and memorial Mass will be said Saturday at Holy Family Cathedral in Anchorage starting at 10:15 a.m. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Vincent M. Kelber. A reception will follow the service.
Luke was attending Universal Technical Institute at the time of his death.
He was an avid snowmachiner who had an amazing zest for life. He had an infectious personality and smile that endeared him to everyone fortunate enough to have been a part of his life. His sudden, unexpected departure from this world leaves his family and friends with a painful emptiness. Our comfort comes in knowing he is once again in the loving arms of his mother.
He is survived by his father, Adrian “Pete” Nolfi and partner Anna Castor of Anchorage; sister Austin L. Nolfi, Wasilla; paternal grandmother Jule J. Nolfi, Big Lake; maternal grandparents Virginia and Bill Poster, Richland, Wash.; aunts Nancy Nolfi-Dodge (George P. Dodge III), Big Lake, Cindy (Kurt) Lewis, Richland, Wash., Teresa (Allen) Pegram, Pasco, Wash., Patty Luna, Richland, Wash.; uncles Michael (Wendy) Polster, West Richland, Wash., Billy (Charlotte) Polster, Richland, Wash.; cousin Peter N. Nolfi, Big Lake, and many cousins in Washington state.
Luke was preceded in death by his mother, Denise Marie (Polster) Nolfi and his paternal grandfather, Adrian W. Nolfi.
The family would like to thank everyone in Arizona and Alaska for their help and support, in particular, dear friend and pillar of strength, Kerry Whitney.
