Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Aileen Fieland, 47, died of cancer Nov. 10, 2007, at Providence Hospital in Anchorage.
A memorial service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Valley Funeral Home’s Wasilla Chapel, 151 E. Herning Ave.
Fieland was born July 9, 1960, in Vancouver, Canada, and graduated from high school before coming to Alaska in 1984. She lived in Anchorage before settling in Wasilla while working at Wells Fargo Bank.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking and entertaining. Fieland was a devoted wife and mother who thought of her family first to the end. She enjoyed the times she spent camping and fishing with her husband, Gary, and son, Corey.
Fieland is survived by her husband and son of Wasilla; brother, David (Gale) Donachie; nieces, Amanda and Michelle Donachie; father and stepmother, William and Margaret Donachie; mother-in-law, Florence Fieland; stepbrother, Jim Scholl; nieces Alyssa and Rachael Scholl of Vancouver, Wash. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ellen Donachie.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Fieland’s honor be made to the American Cancer Society.
Valley Funeral Homes and Crematory of Wasilla and Palmer assisted the family.
