Former Wasilla resident Al Weaver Bartholmae, 88, passed away peacefully March 14, 2015, at home in Las Vegas, New Mexico, with his wife, Mary Alice, by his side.
Born July 19, 1926, in Fredricksburg, Texas, to Albert H. and Johnie Bartholmae, Al was a hard-working businessman who managed the Sunday House Motels in Fredricksburg, Ruidoso, New Mexico, and Vernon, Texas, for many years. His passions were his wife, daughters and flying remote-controlled airplanes.
Al was a gentle, caring and loving man, and he will be loved, missed and cherished by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert H. and Johnnie; and brother, Varnell.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Mary Alice; daughters, Stacey Boot, Wichita Falls, Texas, Melony Pitts, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Rebecca Henry (Jerry) of Wasilla; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Nelson Funeral Home in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
