Alaska Raceway Park is set to kick off the 2024 race season and celebrate its 60th anniversary with the Mother's Day Motherload season opener Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12.

A recent press release described Alaska Raceway Park as a “cornerstone of motorsports entertainment” that's entertained race fans with “adrenaline-pumping” races and family-friendly events for the last six decades.

The Mother's Day Motherload season opener will feature a full weekend of action packed racing events.

Mr. Dizzy Motorsports will be showcasing explosive stunts through his 55 and Still Alive tour to add an extra level of excitement to the celebration.

Visitors will also have the chance to purchase food and beverages while enjoying the festive atmosphere that exemplifies what Alaska Raceway Park is all about.

"We are thrilled to kick off our 60th anniversary season with the Mother's Day Motherload opener," Alaska Raceway Park owner Michelle Lackey Maynor stated in the press release. "This milestone season is only possible due to the dedication of our racers, employees, fans, and sponsors who have supported us over the years. We look forward to creating more memories with our community and continuing to provide top-notch motorsports entertainment."

The 2024 race season starts May 11 on the NASCAR oval track followed by the opener on the NHRA drag strip May 12.

During a previous interview with the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, Lackey Maynor said they intend to keep moving forward with their longtime racers and new friends every year. She said they’re fostering the next generation of racers with their youth programs and the overall interest in their new and established events and activities are contouring to grow, spreading a sense of encouragement around the track.

“The sport has grown out here, and it’s been pretty cool to see that,” Lackey Maynor said. “It’s really neat to have a place where all of these different people come together because we all love motorsports, and we love the family aspect of it, and we all love what we’re doing.”

Tickets are available for purchase online at alaska.tracksideapp.com or at the gate.

Alaska Raceway Park is located at 5599 Race Way in the Butte area.
