Warm temperatures and snowmelt throughout the South Central region
have made a mess of things, with current conditions looking more appropriate for ice skates than snowmachines. However, the forecast is calling for highs to drop below freezing this weekend with a chance for a fresh dump of snow.
Turnigan Pass and Summit Lake are reporting considerable avalanche danger. Use caution if your travels are taking you in or near the mountains. Carry the appropriate gear, know how to execute a companion rescue and get the current avalanche and snow conditions at Alaska_Snow-dot-org.
