PALMER— Bright Up the Night, Alaska’s largest drive-through holiday light display, returned to the Alaska State Fair from Nov. 25 to Jan. 1.

The light display, presented by AT&T, featured more than 70 different light displays spanning the entire length of the fairgrounds, from the Purple Gate through the Green Gate. From the warmth and comfort of their vehicles, guests drive through almost a mile of festive light displays while enjoying the holiday music broadcast synced directly to their radio.

“This Holiday has been ‘bright’ on the Fairgrounds with favorites like the Bright Up the Night drive-thru light display and The Christmas Factory. We love seeing smiling faces!” ASF marketing and communications manager, Melissa Keefe said.

According to Keefe, the overall feedback from the public was very supportive this year. She said the attendance rate was steady and similar to the 2020 season.

“People love seeing the Fairgrounds lit up this time of year,” Keefe said.

The Fair plans to keep the holiday tradition going each year. Keefe said there will be all new light displays featured next year. She added that there will be more community-oriented events and activities taking place at the Fairgrounds to look forward to in the coming months and to expect an update after the New Year.

“Our goal is to provide a variety of fun activities for people to come out and enjoy during Alaska’s long winter months,” Keefe said.
