Albert Gilbert Ernest Morris, 71, passed away on Apr. 4, 2018 at the Heritage Place Nursing Home in Soldotna. Graveside services with military honors will be held 1 p.m., Monday, May 7, at Ft. Richardson National Cemetery on JBER in Anchorage. Albert was born on September 11, 1946, in Llanelli, Wales, England to William and Louise Morris. He was one of five children. Later they moved to Canada where Albert grew up. As a young man, Albert went to Great Lakes Naval Station, Illinois and joined the US Navy, and served the United States as a fireman. He was eventually station in Adak, Alaska. He met his wife in Anchorage and they raised four children together. Albert was a long-time truck driver in Alaska and established a successful trucking business. Albert is survived by his sons Karl Morris and Steven Morris; daughter, Jennifer Morris; grandchildren, Karlene Morris, Richard Morris, Kaitlin Morris and Krista Deschaine; brother, Terry Morris; sister, Rosemarie Donn; daughter-in- laws, Elena Morris and Nicki Morris, Donna Deschaine and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Louise Morris, daughter, Tammy Morris, brother, Peter Morris and sister, Wendy Watton. Arrangements will be made at the Peninsula Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
