Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Albert Jesse “Mugsy” Newhall, 55, died March 12 at his home in Houston. He was born on March 11, 1955 in Bellingham, Wash.
Albert enjoyed snowmachining, playing pool, skiing and fixing cars.
His family wrote, “He was a loving father, a family man who loved his children, but he was stubborn in his ways.”
Mr. Newhall was survived by his father, Ray Newhall; son, Aleck Newhall of Houston; daughters, Mikse Marx, Jessica Andrews and Jennifer Newhall all of Anchorage; brothers Patrick Newhall of Savoonga; Orville Newhall of Houston; Albert Escholt of Houston; grandchildren, Kaitlin Newhall Andrews, David Andrews, Matthew Andrews, Lynnzie Craig Newhall, Katarina Andrews, William Craig, Raymond, Evonne, JoAn Newhall, nieces and nephews, Crystal, Brianne, Campbell, and Benjamin Pope.
He was preceded in death by his mother, JoAn Cushing Newhall; and brother, Raymond Theodore.
Pallbearers will be Doug Newhall, Pete Newhall, Aleck Newhall, Nathaniel Williams, Albert Escholt, and Raymond Newhall.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.
