Long time Palmer resident Alden “Denny” Ward Stratton, passed away October 31, 2021, at Mat-Su Regional Hospital, Alaska surrounded by his family.
Denny was born August 15, 1940 in Columbus Ohio to Claire & Russell. He graduated from Jefferson High in 1958 and went on to Ohio State where he received a bachelor’s degree of fine arts. He married Beverly Katherine Kaufman on June 15, 1963.
Denny’s love of the outdoors and taking his family on adventures brought them to Palmer, AK in September of 1984. Denny enjoyed exploring Alaska with his family, hiking, camping, photography, writing and he was an avid Buckeyes football fan. Denny’s love for his family, generosity, kind heart and his humor were an inspiration to his loved ones. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones and his 4-legged buddies Mutt and Jeff.
He is survived by his brother, Lee of Columbus Ohio; his two daughters and their spouses, Wendy and Mark White of Palmer and Lori Stratton and Jeannette Fuller of Palmer; his son and his spouse, Chris and Mara Stratton of Palmer; and his grandson and his fiancé, Conner White and Bailey Beaman of Palmer. Denny was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, his brother Scott and his parents Claire and Russell.
