Alison Joy Unaviqsrauq Cleveland

Funeral services for Palmer resident Alison Joy Unaviqsrauq Cleveland, 17, died May 12, 2011, at home on in Palmer. A memorial service is at 1 p.m., Friday, May 20 at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Wasilla, at 1015 S. Check St., with Pastor Marcie Menefee of Palmer Victory Fellowship officiating. Additional services will be next week in Selawik.

She was born in Kotzebue on Jan. 14, 1994. She was a junior at Palmer High School. She liked to watch cartoons, especially “Tom & Jerry.” She would also tease her mom all the time.

Her family wrote, “We would like to send a sincere thank you to the people who met Alison and who helped in her journey in life. She taught a lot in her own way. She will greatly be missed. She enjoyed the song ‘Jewels’ and her favorite Bible verse was 1 Peter 5:7.”

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandpa, Andy E. Cleveland; uncle, Al Cleveland; and paternal grandparents, Virgil Clark Sr. and Marie Clark. She is survived by her mother, Minnie Cleveland of Palmer; her father, Virgil Clark Jr. of Anchorage; a sister, Lois Cleveland of Palmer; brothers, David Cleveland of Palmer and Eli and Andy Cleveland, both of Selawik; and her maternal grandmother, Ellen Cleveland of Selawik. Burial will be in the family plot at the Selawik Cemetery.
