Allen Andrew Woellmer

Wasilla resident Allen Andrew Woellmer, 5, died Feb. 27 at Ronald McDonald House in Seattle, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

A funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel, 1015 S. Check Street in Wasilla, with Bishop Jerry Holbrook officiating. Burial will be later in the spring at Valley Memorial Park in Palmer. Pallbearers will be Mark Woellmer, Thomas Klee, Kyle Woellmer, Craig Moseley, Greg Clay, Joey Soares and Mike Anderson.

Allen was born Nov. 11, 2003, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. His short lifetime was spent in Wasilla, where he attended pre-school and enjoyed music, crafts, video games and SpongeBob.

His family said, “Allen was a fun loving strong willed 5-year-old. Every life he came in contact with will be forever changed. To Allen’s family he represents faith, hope, love, strength and courage. He will forever be our hero.”

Allen is survived by his father, mother, and brother, Mark, Susan and Kyle Woellmer of Wasilla; grandmother, Kaye Fullmer of Chugiak; great- grandmother, Virginia Fullmer of Eagle River; aunts and uncles, Tammie and Mike Anderson of Anchorage, Sondra Cummins and Greg Clay of Wasilla, Sheila and Craig Moseley of Wasilla, Rhonda and Joey Soares of Kenai, Peggy Escamilla of Wasilla, Sonja and Harold Allen, Pat and Nate Brown, and Carolyn and Jim Cloyd, all of Texas, Wendy Heath of Idaho, Annette and Greg Soohov of Wisconsin, Karlene and Bryan Heath and Shawn Heath of Idaho; grandfather, Rod Woellmer of Florida; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Breanna Woellmer; aunt, Donna Kraybill; and grandparents, Harold and Myrtle Allen.
