Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Allen “David” Church, 22, died Jan. 23, 2011, in Los Osos, Calif.
He was born June 30, 1988, in Seattle, Wash., the son of Art Church Jr. and Bonnie Church.
David grew up in Willow, where he discovered one of his passions to be fishing, and eventually landed an opportunity to work on a commercial fishing boat in Bristol Bay. David also enjoyed listening to music, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
David is survived by his parents, Art and Bonnie Church; grandparents, Art and Yvonne Church of Alaska, and Virginia and Richard Baldwin of Delaware; aunts and uncles Richard and Leticia Baldwin, Barney Church, Jay and Susan Lowenstein and Anita Aderhold; and numerous cousins.
There was a celebration of life for David Feb. 12 at Willow Elementary School. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to: Akeela Inc. 4111 Minnesota Dr. Anchorage, AK 99503.
