Allen Kenneth Theodore
Mr. Allen Kenneth Theodore; 60, a lifelong resident of Montana Creek, Alaska, went home to be with Jesus on December 22nd, 2020, at Mat-Su Regional, due to complications of the Covid-19 virus.
Born to Herbert William Theodore and Lillian Stephan on November 2nd, 1960, Allen graduated from Susitna Valley High School in 1979. Kenny worked on the North Slope for three years with Western Geophysical--he was schooled in Oregon for Heavy Equipment Operations--and over the last six years he made lots of friends working at the family owned “Chetta’s Campground.”
To his family, Kenneth was the ultimate big brother who looked after his little sisters. He always took after his dad and ensured we all were taken care of, and, no matter what, he continually made sure his parents were okay.
Kenneth, or Al as some called him--yet his uncle Johnny would nickname him “the Meat Eater,” loved playing guitar. He was a great outdoorsman, which included hunting and fishing, and he shared his sense of humor with everyone he met at the campground, by the campfire and everywhere he went. He liked shooting ptarmigan in honor of nature and his mother. An adventurer, he enjoyed taking close friends on personal guided trips on old native/canoe trails. A close friend to all and one of the three last descendants of Chief Wasilla Stepan, who moved to Montana Creek in 1916.
Allen was preceded in death by his dad, Herbert William Theodore; sister Violet Rae Theodore; niece Jude Dene Hall; sisters Jennifer Dee Theodore and Carol Lynn Morgan; and nephew Royce Herbert Morgan.
Surviving are his mother, Lillian Stephan of Montana Creek; sister Lena M. Batt of Kenai; brothers Vincent of Seward and H. Glenn of Montana Creek; sisters Barbara A. Schubert of Anchorage, Bernadine K. of Montana Creek, and Sharon L. Padua of Hillsboro, Oregon; and his daughters, Paula and Wanda; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be at Montana Creek Baptist Church, at the Talkeetna ‘Y’ on Parks Highway. Burial will be at the Montana Creek Cemetery, the date & time to be determined at a later time.
In lieu of providing or sending flowers; please contact the family about making burial arrangement and funeral service donations. Thank you to everyone for your support during this trying time.
