Alvina L. Horton, 89, passed away Oct. 21, 2013, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.
A Funeral Mass for her is at 9 a.m., Nov. 5 at Sacred Heart Church, 1201 Bogard Rd., Wasilla.
She was born Oct. 12, 1924, in Waite Park, Minn., to Frank and Elizabeth Pohl. She married John Horton on Aug. 26, 1977.
Alvina was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, bingo, gardening, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching football and Lawrence Welk, traveling and shopping.
Survivors include her children, Gary White of Lacombe, La., Marla Kelley (Rodney) of Ponchatoula, La., Belinda Levet (Louis) of Lacombe, La., and Craig White (Kesinee) of Bahrain; and step-daughter, Debra Catalano (Salvador) of Florida; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Horton; and daughter, Sharon Ladner.
