Amy Kathryn ‘Rion’ Chesbro

Amy Kathryn ‘Rion’ Chesbro

Amy Kathryn “Rion” Chesbro, 35, loved life and its people.

Always compassionate, caring and conciliatory, Amy brightened the lives of family and friends. Born in Alaska on Aug. 22, 1975, she had a deep connection with nature. After graduating from Palmer High School in 1993, her creative spirit led to a major in poetry at Bard College. She pursued visual arts and crafts as well as music throughout her life. Later, she earned a master’s degree in Information Science from the University of Michigan.

A natural teacher, Amy enjoyed her students at Cleary Business School and Washtenaw Community College and was seeking an MBA to further her career in account management and sales at Attendance on Demand of Infotronics in Livonia, Mich., when she died tragically Dec. 17, 2010. Her fiancé noted that the violent nature of her death is in direct opposition to the way she lived her life.

Amy leaves the loves of her life, PJ Two Ravens and their three chihuahuas; her parents, James and Patricia of Palmer; sisters, Carrie, Jennifer and Heidi; and brothers, Jim and Mark; as well as her grandmother, Helen Casscles. Numerous other family members and friends remember Amy with tears and laughter.

A celebration of Amy’s life is scheduled for Jan. 14 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Turkey Red in Palmer. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to offer tribute to Amy’s life are invited to make a donation in her name to the Trees in Memory program of the Arbor Foundation, the Food Gatherers of Ann Arbor (food bank), the Michigan Humane Society or another charity of your choice.
