Andrea Wolfe
11/19/1965 – 12/19/2021
Andrea Wolfe, 56, passed away at home in Wasilla, AK, on December 19, 2021, due to organ failure.
Andrea was born in Etzenricht, Bavaria, Germany, to parents Karl Manfred Wagner and Helga Maria Schmid on November 19, 1965. She completed 8th grade in Germany before moving to the United States in 1983 and was a resident alien/green card holder for more than 20 years. She became a naturalized US citizen in 2012. She met her husband, John Wolfe, on a blind date in September of 1994 while he was on leave from his assignment on Shemya Island, Alaska.
Andrea enjoyed the outdoors and exploring the backcountry with her husband on their ATV. She enjoyed salmon and trout fishing during the summer and ice fishing in the winter. She also was an avid mushroom enthusiast and picked blueberries. She was a gardener and raised chickens for eggs. Andrea was a devoted pet owner and treated her dogs like members of the family that they are. She made beautiful crocheted blankets for family and friends and she enjoyed writing poetry.
Simply put, Andrea was a good person. She was warm, friendly, caring, and generous to a fault. If someone knew Andrea, more than likely they loved her. Her personal needs and wants were few, and she focused on the needs of her friends and family.
Andrea was preceded in death by her mother Helga Kreitlein of Weiherhammer, Germany; father Karl Wagner of Weiden, Germany; and daughter, Ashley Griffin, of Anchorage, Alaska.
She is survived by her loving husband John Wolfe of Wasilla, AK; sons Robert Quates and Ryan Quates both of Texas, Randal Quates and David Griffin both of Big Lake, AK; sisters Kerstin Barth and Jessie Söllner both of Schnaittenbach, Germany; and brothers Thomas Wagner of Weiden, Germany, Peter Kreitlein of Nuremburg, Germany, and Gerry Schmid of Kirtorf, Germany.
A service for Andrea will be held on December 23, 2pm, at Mat-Su Funeral Home, 6901 E. Blue Lupine Rd., Palmer, AK. Final resting place will be at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.
