Anita F. Gay died April 1, 2007 at her home, Northern Comfort, at the age of 96.
She was born in Makokada, Iwoa on Nov. 21, 1910.
Anita spent summers in Alaska with her daughter, Judy, and winters in Phoenix, at her original home, with her son Tim and his wife Phyllis. In May of 2004 she came to Alaska to stay.
Anita had a full life. Everyone loved her sweet smile and sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, a grandson, Jerry and sisters Kathryn, Margaret, Minnette and brother, Eugene.
Anita is survived by her daughters Judy and Mary. Her son Tim. Grandchildren April, Anette, Alisa, Judy, Anita and 11 great grandchildren.
Until her marriage to Joe in 1939, Anita worked for the Davenport Telephone Company. She remained a housewife until Joe's death in 1965. She then traveled to Europe, Spain and Portugal. After returning to Phoenix, she went to work for the Library Extension Services. She took many trips, enjoyed cruises and visited the Holy Land and Asia.
Anita will be buried next to her Husband in Phoenix, Az. A service will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Palmer on April, 10 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Senior Center is suggested.
Robert Edward
Lofgreen
Robert Edward Lofgreen, 67, died April 4, 2007, at Private Extended Care in Anchorage.
A viewing was held April 6, 2007, at the Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla prior to the burial. A graveside service followed at Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Bishop Jimmy LaVioe officiated.
A separate memorial service was held April 7, 2007, at the LDS church across from Colony High School.
Mr. Lofgreen was born on August 28, 1939, in Bell, Calif. He served three years in the Navy. In January 1994 he moved to Alaska. He lived originally in Anchorage but ended up claiming his residency in Wasilla.
Mr. Lofgreen was employed by the Fuller Brush Company and the U.S. Postal Service, from which he retired. He was also a custom knife-maker (LOF Custom Knives) and enjoyed hunting.
His family stated, “Bob was the oldest child of nine children. He was a father to 10 children. He was generous, kind and fun loving. He loved his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor. He loved the Gospel and taught how to live it through his example. He was a devoted husband and father. He is loved by all.”
Mr. Lofgreen is survived by his wife, Alice, of Wasilla; daughter, Colleen of Livermore, Calif.; sons Sterling and Daniel, of Wasilla, and Jeramiah and Aaron of Hawaii; daughters Charlene and Ann Marie, of Pahoa, Hawaii, Verlene/(Zolari) of Willow, and Kathleen, of Eugene, Ore.; brothers Eugene of
California; John, of Alaska, Joseph, of Florida, and James and Richard, of Arizona; sisters JoAnne, of California, Jenny, of Arizona, and Beverly of Utah.
He was preceded in death by his son, David, mother, Virginia and father, Joseph.

Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla.
