Wasilla resident Anna Jo Stull, 78, died Oct. 17 of respiratory failure, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview Loop Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be at the church 1 hour prior to services. Graveside services will follow at Wasilla Aurora Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Stull, Ken Donaldson, Woody Duncan, Roy Stull, Jonathan Stull and Roy Dale Stull.

Anna was born Nov. 6, 1930, in Pyatt, Ark. She moved from Arkansas to Washington state in 1934, and moved to Alaska in 1995. She was director of nursing at several long-term health care facilities in Washington and Alaska from 1972 to the present. She graduated from Yakima High School in 1949, and Yakima Valley College in 1972.

She was a member of the Alaska and Washington state nurses associations; consultant to the Alaska State Long Term Health Care board of directors; and a member of Fairview Loop Baptist Church. She received a special award as the Alaska Honorary Nurse of the Year. She was a long-time supporter of Alaska Avalanche Hockey, Alaska Academic Decathlon, and youth sports programs.

Her family wrote: “We will always remember Mom as the epitome of a godly woman. Her caring spirit and enthusiasm for life served as a shining example to all who knew her. She never met anyone she considered a stranger. Her presence will always be with us.”

Survivors are her son, David Stull of Wasilla; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Woody Duncan of Wasilla; daughter, Kathy Stull of Wasilla; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Glen Worman of Selah, Wash.,; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Pannell of Yakima; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Cecelia Pannell of Selah; aunt, Iva Andrews of Yakima; grandsons, Roy Stull and Jonathan Stull of Wasilla; daughter-in-law, Crystal Stull of Wasilla; special friend, Jenny Wagner of Box Elder, S. D.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Wayne Stull; parents, Aud and Gertrude Pannell; brother, William Pannell; Baby Duncan; nephew, Ken Worman; uncle, Lester Andrews; uncle Bill Pannell; and aunt, Emma Pannell.

Arrangements are with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel of Wasilla.
