Anna M. Kelly, 81, died March 1, 2012, at Heidi’s Assisted Living Facility in Wasilla. She was born May 17, 1930, in Lower Merion, Penn., to John and Rose (Malone) Dougherty.

A Memorial Mass in her honor is at 11 a.m., March 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wasilla with Father Scott Garrett officiating.

Anna and her husband, John, were married for 55 years and they moved to Alaska in 1968 where they lived in Valdez, Anchorage, Petersburg and Ketchikan and Wasilla.

She enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra and spending time with her family and grandkids. She also enjoyed gardening, especially her lilac flowers and her cats. She also enjoyed seeing owls.

Anna’s family said she also enjoyed visiting those who were sick and her work for the Salvation Army. She was strong in her faith as a Catholic and attended Sacred Heart in Wasilla and Holy Family in Anchorage.

Anna’s family said she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and that they will love and miss her and the times they shared together.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John of Wasilla; sons, John J. Kelly of Hawaii and Thomas F. Kelly of Alaska; daughter, Deborah A. Pruitt of Oklahoma; grandsons, Sean Kelly and his children, Ian and Jade, all of Hawaii, Thomas Kelly and his children, Tommy and Cara of Anchorage, John Kelly of Anchorage and Max Pruitt of Oklahoma; granddaughters, Carrie Madriaga of Hawaii, Kristina Kelly of California, Jessie and Jennifer Kelly of Anchorage and Raquel Pruitt of Oklahoma; daughters-in-law Diane Kelly of Hawaii and Doreen Kelly of Anchorage.

Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory Wasilla cared for the family.
